Jesse Katen: "What do I WANT?" for Leaders
I created this video for the incredible people in the New and Emerging Leaders in Healthcare and Human Services group I am leading. I had promised to get to the topic of the “P’s” that get in our way as leaders: people pleasing, perfectionism, procrastination, paralysis (analysis paralysis), and perseveration. We had such an engaging and deep and meaningful conversation that we didn’t get to it, so I thought I would share it this way—by creating videos!
Even if you’re not in my group of leaders, feel free to watch the video and I hope it resonates with you!
This is the first of a series and it’s on the concept that you need to understand before we can focus on the “P’s” and that is the question of “What do I WANT?” This is the critical question that helps leaders define their intention.
As a leader, I think it’s helpful to “Start with I”:
Who am I?
What am I about?
What is it that I want?
Let’s take a look at what can get in the way of our ability to answer these questions for ourselves!
